ABOUT SRI TIRUVENKATANATHA SWAMY TEMPLE

Sri Tiruvenkatanatha Swamy Temple, located at Mylasamudram Village, Kothacheruvu Mandal, Sri Satya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh, is an ancient and highly revered temple known for its spiritual significance and divine presence. The temple has existed since ages and is believed to be one of the most powerful and sacred places of worship in the region.

The presiding deity, Sri Tiruvenkatanatha Swamy, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is worshipped along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi Ammavarlu, all enshrined within a single idol. A rare and distinctive feature of this deity is the Abhaya Hasta, symbolizing protection and fearlessness, which is seldom seen in other Vishnu temples. The idol was installed approximately 600 years ago and is carved from divine Krishna Sila, a pure black stone that is extremely rare and scarcely available in the present day.

The temple is beautifully situated on the banks of the Mylasamudram minor tank bund, which remains filled with water for most of the year, creating a serene and spiritually uplifting environment for devotees.

At present, the temple is undergoing modern renovation and development, while preserving its ancient sanctity and traditional values. The temple is administered and maintained by a registered body, Sri Tiruvenkatanatha Swamy Temple Trust. The Trust was headed by Late Mr. Puranam Prabhakara Rao, who served as the Founder President and dedicated his life to the service and development of the temple.

Following the demise of the Founder President, Mr. Puranam Srivatsa, his son, has assumed the role of President of the Trust and is diligently carrying forward the responsibilities and vision of the Trust, ensuring the continued spiritual, structural, and administrative growth of the temple.

Historically, the initial structural (skeleton) construction of the temple was undertaken in the 1970s by Mr. Puranam Venkatadri Rao, with financial assistance from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Since then, the renovation and developmental activities have been continuously supported by the Puranam family, notably Mr. Puranam Venkatadri Rao, Mr. Puranam Sainatha Rao, and Late Mr. Puranam Prabhakara Rao, along with generous donations and support from devoted worshippers.

The Sri Tiruvenkatanatha Swamy Temple stands today as a timeless symbol of faith, devotion, heritage, and collective service, continuing to bless devotees and preserve its sacred legacy for future generations.
